How UGC creators get paid
UGC creators are paid by invoice after delivering a video, through a platform that holds the brand's payment, or through a program that pays out on a schedule based on tracked results. Always confirm the amount, timing, and payment method before you start.
Direct brand deals
When you work with a brand directly, you agree on a deliverable and a price, deliver the video, and send an invoice. Payment terms vary, so agree on when you will be paid and whether part of the fee is due upfront.
Put the scope in writing: how many videos, how many revisions, where the brand may use them, and for how long.
Marketplaces and platforms
Creator marketplaces match brands with creators and usually handle the payment. The brand funds the job, you deliver, and the platform releases the money once the work is approved. Read each platform's fees and approval rules before you take a job.
Creator programs with scheduled payouts
Some companies run their own creator programs. You post to your accounts, the program tracks your results, and earnings are paid out on a regular schedule.
In Argo Creators, payouts are weekly, and your creator dashboard shows your tracked posts, earnings and payouts. Connect your payment account during onboarding so payouts are ready to go.
Before you accept an offer
A few questions prevent most payment problems.
- What exactly am I delivering, and what counts as approved?
- When and how will I be paid?
- Can the brand run my video as an ad, and for how long?
- Are there fees taken out of my payment?
