How to Tailor a Resume to a Job
Tailoring means putting your most relevant experience first. Choose the projects, skills, and results that fit the role.
Find the central requirements
Read the description for the work the person will own, the required skills, and the outcomes expected. Highlight repeated themes, then distinguish must-haves from nice-to-haves.
Reorder and clarify
Move relevant achievements higher within your existing roles, sharpen vague bullets, and name the tools or methods you actually used. A clear example of solving a similar problem is stronger than a long list of keywords.
Keep a copy of what you sent
Save the job description and final resume version with the application. If you get an interview, that exact version should guide preparation. Check dates, titles, links, and formatting before submission.
