How to Plan a Week of Job Searching
A useful job-search schedule reserves time for more than application forms. Split the week into finding suitable roles, sending strong applications, maintaining contacts, and preparing for conversations.
Set a short list of targets
Choose the roles, locations, and employers you will focus on this week. Write down your non-negotiable constraints. A short target list makes alerts easier to review and helps you recognize a strong opening quickly.
Reserve blocks for different work
Separate discovery from applying so you do not spend every session scrolling. Leave a block to tailor documents and answer questions, one to follow up or contact people, and one to prepare for possible interviews. Use blocks that fit your actual schedule.
Review outcomes and reset
At the end of the week, record what you submitted and what still needs action. Check where time went and whether the roles you chose fit your goals. Adjust next week's plan based on that evidence, not an arbitrary application quota.
