We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to build the services that find jobs, track applications, and keep every person’s search moving.
What you’ll do
- Design and build the Go and TypeScript services behind job matching, application tracking, and the shared inbox.
- Model jobs, profiles, resumes, applications, and employer replies so the data stays correct as the product grows.
- Build reliable queues and workflows for long-running work like sourcing listings and submitting applications.
- Integrate with job boards, applicant tracking systems, and email providers, and handle their failures gracefully.
- Add logging, metrics, and alerts so problems are found before customers notice them.
- Protect sensitive personal data with sound authentication, authorization, and access controls.
What we’re looking for
- Experience building and running backend services in production, ideally in Go or TypeScript.
- Strong relational database, schema design, and query performance skills.
- Experience designing systems that handle retries, partial failures, and unreliable third-party APIs.
- Clear code and documentation that other engineers can build on.
- Clear communication about technical decisions, tradeoffs, and progress.
Useful experience
- Workflow engines, queues, or other background job systems.
- Parsing and processing email or other semi-structured data.
- Handling personal data under privacy and security requirements.
